By now your garden and beds are all prepped for the winter and you have sketched and planned your Spring landscaping and hardscaping projects (You have been doing your assignments, haven’t you?). But if you are still anxious to get out in the yard and get some fresh air on a mild day, there are still a few more things you can do.

Trees and Shrubs

Continue to keep your trees and shrubs neat and pruned and be sure to get rid of any damage that may have occurred from a Winter storm. It is safe to trim and prune all Winter while trees and shrubs are dormant.

Get Organized

Organize your shed or garage and replenish supplies. Are your tools where you can find them? If not, build or purchase shelves to store your hand tools and a hanging system for long-handled tools like rakes and shovels. Pick up fertilizer, seeds, planters and baskets, and all of your other supplies now in the off-season. Most garden centers and big box stores still have plenty of inventory and you won’t have to fight the crowds come Spring.
